Employed mainly in the alcoholic beverages industry, also used in cosmetics and pharmaceutical applications, eg extraction.
Extra-neutral potato alcohol or potato surfin is made 100% out of potatoes. It is a high- purity potable alcohol (ethanol) produced via fermentation, distillation and precision rectification of potatoes. Typical strength is min. 96% ABV, lower strength is available. It is used to produce premium vodka (where it is often the sole ingredient) and in distilleries to produce gin through re-distillation or maceration. Also used for blending in vodka- based ready to drink beverages (RTD) such as hard seltzers and cocktails.

Widely used in the liqueur and fortified wine sectors and, depending on prevailing national regulations, in the brandy sector. Also commonly used in process of gin distillation.
